I just purchased a 600 Ford - serial no. 16100-(1955 I think) and noticed that air intake funnel on side of hood does not enter oil bath can opening. Oil bath can opening is about 1 inch to low for funnel to enter as it should. Do I possibly have wrong size Can (maybe off a NAA or 601)or am I missing a bracket where oil bath can connects to tractor? The Can now readily bolts to battery box on one side and steering gear box on other side but leaves opening for air intake funnel about an inch to low to connect. Any help and/or guidence appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
David (Alabama)

I think it’s been replaced but originally there whose a rubber boot that connected them to gather I think I wouldn’t worry about it I have never seen one of those rubber boots except in a parts catalog

David,
Check to see if the bottom of the sheetmetal dogleg (bolt) on the front of your tractor is in the upper or lower hole of the frame. When I worked on my 641's sheetmetal I thought the dogleg bolt should be in the upper hole like my 850. That shifted the entire hood up and out of alignment. If your sheetmetal is not installed properly perhaps that could account for the air intake not matching up with the air cleaner. In your case there may be an improper installation of your instrument cluster. My 2 cents, Don

Thanks Don, I'll take a look at that as soon as I can get back to the barn. The rains killin' me.
