Hi,

I've just got a 1979 3600. It's the road-going variant with a speedometer instead of a tacho/proofmeter.

I'd like to be able to set my PTO speed to 540, so need to take a tacho feed from the engine. The attached photo shows a fitting next to the oil fliter whic I think will do the job. At present it has a knurled cap on it, which I haven't yet removed.

Can anyone confirm this is the place to go? If I get a cable of appropriate length, will I just be able to fit it here, or will I need to get any internal mechanism?

I'm hoping the speedo is just a tacho with a different dial face, so I can use a petrol gasoline engined car with rev-counter and ignition strobe to calibrate engine speed for PTO540 rpm.

Hints and suggestions welcomed, please!

William
