Help identify this please, and parts availability etc..

Its I think a 1967 5000 series ? with a 4 cyl gas engine, lots of repair welds all over, king pins and spindles worn bad.
Most otherpins seem ok, Hoe chain ok looking centerlink pin worn, is this worth $ 3000 he is asking, I dont think so myself, gas tank needs to be boiled along with radiator, supposedly the head was done a few years ago. I need a backhoe just for a new garage and french drain Im building, and maybe restore it somewhat ? It has a lot of wear, and the hour gauge froze at 55000 hrs ?

Are most parts availble for this ? What problems does this model have, how hard is a clutch job, clutch I was told is ok.

What model is this etc... The guy who is selling it doesnt really know. I Need to know info ASAP

I was thinking of offering around $ 15-1800 for it in this condition, what is its value roughly in this condition, I was told it runs and works ???
It definitely needs a lot of TLC to run right !

All stickers are painted over except under hood

Model D502K
Transmission: 8H20 B
Axle ?? H21 B
Engine SF26
Tractor number ? C218 6 B ?
Unit 3? 8? J20B
Decal is in poor shape some numbers could be wrong !

Link with a few pics, please also reply to my email, !!

Thanks billymac...

It's a 4500 with a model 740 loader and 755 backhoe. It has a clutch and gearshift transmission with 6 speeds forward and 4 reverse.

Better to have the simple gear transmission in an older unit, the more common torque converter and power reversing transmission has more possibility of major problems.

If it starts and runs well, has strong hydraulics and steers easily, it could be a good buy and could be capable of doing lots of digging yet.

Count the number of cylinders again, the 4500 has a 3 cylinder but it wouldn't be the first time someone has installed a four cylinder.

I think Texadian is likely right. The dash a,d grill are identical to my '67 3500D(Old Stoney). Ive got a 735 loader and a 753 backhoe on mine; they are so similar to what's in the picture that I'd be hard put to say which was which. He's right about the price, too. If the tractor's in good shape it's worth that much by itself. I paid twice that for mine ten years ago. The hoe had several pins and bushings worn out; ten years of sometimes hard work and they're still worn out. Hoses, too. Replace 'em when they pop. On the other hand; I've had major work done on transmission twice, and the engine rebuilt last year, put two new tires on the rear, constantly needing something. I've got, conservatively, 18 grand in maintenence. Still, that's less than 2,000 a year, only twice what I'd pay in hunt club dues if I didn't have it.
Here's a link to some of what I've done to it myself.

my guess is a 68 but your missing lots of numbers... only pay what you can sell if for tomorrow... if its a total waste,, walk a way.. if it will dig,, can YOU find a buyer!!!?? parts are expensive. so make sure it will run long enough to use it and sell it.. gl Bill
