After not being able to get to my tractor for a few weeks, I started it today. I have had the problem of the lift going up and sticking there. I had the bush hog on it and ran it for awhile. Eventually the lift when down and would not come up--or do anything when I moved the lever. Don't know if this gives further clues as to what might be wrong. I ordered the o-rings and gaskets to open it up. Further advice welcome. Thanks in advance

When you get it open, look at the cam follower pin. Even slight wear will cause a problem similar to yours. Zane has the pins and instructions on replacing them. You probably can get them from a NH dealer also. They are in a non lubricated spot so they wear easily. It often takes two people to remove the pin as you need backing to drift it out, or as Zane says, one to pound on it and one to cuss.

I have seen linkages rust under the cover if the tractor sits a lot these could be sticking.

The current fluid is what came in the tractor when I got it about a month ago. Looks little brown like water in it. I got some replacement fluid from the local TSC store. Perhaps this weekend I will have time to replace it. Do you think that alone will cause the problems I have been having?? Thanks
Larry

I doubt it. See my post above for another possibility.

Got it and e-mailed Zane for the availability of the piece. If not, I will try the local (30 miles away) NH dealer...don't know if I should get the piece anyway and replace it when I have the hydraulics open or wait and see how bad it is. Thanks

Larry:
The pin is only about $1 so you should have it on hand if you get where you can buy it.
Then pin rides on a cam (no lube)and wears out.
