I am looking to buy a new tractor soon and am looking at the N.H. 10s series. There is the 5610 at 70 h.p. 6610 at 80 h.p. and 7610 at 90 h.p. In the brochure I got from the N.H. dealer every spec is the same except horsepower. Each model jumps in price about $2000. Is this just a way for N.H. to make a few grand by just changing the pumps or setting them different? or is there other differences. Thanks

the 6610 has a bigger engine than the 5610, the 7610 has the bigger engine,a turbo charger, and beveled trans gears to boot..

the 66 and 76 also came with dual hydraulics where the 56 it was an option and so on...
so yes its worth the money only if you needed the additional power.

the 76's did require oil changes in half as much time to protect the turbo chargers, keep the soot from increasing the oil viscosity, but todays oils dont require the shorter change..(ci-4 rated diesel oil)

Thanks the brochure I have lists all three with the same size engine. When I looked at it again it did show the 7610 as being turbocharged, but shows nothing being any different between the 5610 and 6610 except horesepower. I suppose the brochure could have a misprint.

The 5610 used to be a 256 cu in engine. A few years back it was upped to the 268 the same as the 6610 and 7610. The engines in the 5610s and 6610s are now completely identicle except for fuel metering. And yes it is very common for tractor companies in general to simply add a bit more fuel to make a slightly higher HP tractor and then charge sevreal thousand dollars more for what is essentially the same machine.
