I have a early 70's Ford 3000 it has a hdy. outlets that come from under the seat. The 3 pt. will not work unless the hyd. outlet handle is in a certain place just about all the way back, and I mean just one place if it isn't exactley in that place it will not work. thanks Pete

I have two 3000's with the under seat remotes. On one the valve went bad - a spring broke inside - and it acted like yours. Putting it almost all the way back is forcing the valve to close because it is between lift and neutral.
Your idea of taking the remotes off will test that indead it is in the valve. The valve parts are available from F/NH.

Thanks for the help but I thought that too, I moved the draft control up down and all around and it still does not work. I think I am going to take the hdy. outlets off of it put a plate on it and see if that works. I will keep you all posted thanks again Pete

yeah Bill I think Pete's right, the draft lever is probably the culprit. An old man told me a long time ago how to know which way the draft lever had to be in for "position". It was quite a colorful description. Needless to say it has to be "up" to get anything done.

My memory jogger is not very colorful, but it works so far. "Up Position - Down Draft". It's easy to remember the P's go together and the D's go together. Lever up is for position control, down position is for draft control. You can also remember that the lever follows where the implement is working: If below ground, lever down, if above ground, lever up.

look down below for the draft lever. it sounds like its pushed down.. this lever should be in the up position,, and then the position lever will work normally. GL Bill
