My Jubilee would only run with me pulling on the choke. So, I bought a kit and overhauled the thing. When I took it a part I noticed that the power valve, on the bottom of the caburator was 8 or 9 turns out. I put the new kit in it and turned the power valve out one turn per instructions. The tractor runs fine now. Question, if the power valve were turned out to far would that make the tractor fuel mixture so lean, that I would have to have the choke on for it to run?

power valves are used to keep from flooding the tractor when suddenly opening the throttle at low rpms... the main jet is actually sized much smaller than normal, and as the engine revs up, the additional vacum will cause the powervalve to pull open and provide the addtional fuel only as the engine can handle it and builds up rpm.... this helps to eliminate flat spots when they work correctly. to answer your question.. yes.. usually a main jet is two sizes smaller when used in a power valve carburator..
