I need to remove the hydraulic pump on my 3000. I want to rebuild the front part. I can see two lines running to the pump, one larger than the other. The smaller line has a nut holding to the pump and the larger one does not. Can somebody tell me the proper way to remove the pump. Do I need to remove the pump to rebuild only the font part? I see there are springs, etc in there. I have the ford service manual but guess I am a idiot. Thanks.

The nut on the pressure line (smaller line) is unscrewed. The larger suction line is held in place by a bracket on the bell housing. Loosen bolt on bracket, but don't pry on this line very much. Its alignment is critical to the sealing of the pump.
Once the lines are loose, unbolt pump and rebuild the pump on a bench vise.
You can purchase a rebuild kit (CKPN600A $72.83 NH List-recommended) and go through the pump. The pump shaft seal should be replaced and the shaft inspected for a seal groove. If the groove is to deep, you can repair with a speedi-sleeve.
