What are the horsepower of the 2000,3000,4000,5000 tractors? PTO/Drawbar, gas and diesel ratings. Was it just the 2000 that had a 3-cylinder as a option and how much less or more was the hp. compared to the 4-cylinder? I thought that the 3000 was 38 horse and the 2000 22 horse but that doesn't sound right. Also what year did Ford go "all-blue"? I have seen 2000,3000,4000,5000's with different sheetmatal that was grey.

Tractor horse power can be tested many different ways. Possibly the most detailed is the Nebraska test established for testing horsepower based upon Draw Bar and PTO. Nebraska has tested over 1500 tractors since 1929. This information is consolidated into a "Nebraska Tractor Test" book written by C.H. Wendel. Almost every major tractor series manufactured or sold in USA is in this book. Typically the information includes a photo of the tractor as well as the displacement of the engine. I purchased my copy through TSC, but I have also seen this book at Barnes and Nobles. 2000 series tractors were rated approximately 30 Hp at the PTO and about 27 Hp at the drawbar. 3000 series tractors are about 37 Hp at the PTO and about 32 Hp at the Draw bar. 4000 series tractors are about 50 Hp at the PTO and about 40 at the draw bar. 5000 series tractor are about 54 hp at the PTO and 48 at the Drawbar.

I hope this puts the other responses in perspective.

The 4 cylinder 2000 and 4000 were prior to 1965. These are totally different tractors than the 3 cylinder tractors in 1965 and later. The early 2000 and 4000 are basically the same as the 601 and 801 series that preceded them.
