my lift would not go up after my my oil reservoir was low and i removed the piston pump and manifold to check the o rings and they seemed fine. but what little fluid was in there fell to the ground so now my hydraulic reservoir is empty. so i poured 134 into it about 2 gallons (8 quarts?) into the 841 under the seat there by the lift the cap thing..

I then bled the pump with the engine running and oil oozed out slowly then alot and i couldnt put the plug back because it was pushing the oil out too fast.

so is hut it down and put the plug back on the pump.

i then restrated the old girl and the lift went up but it chattered. should i belled it some more and should i do it at a lower engine rpm?

i need to fix this lift.

I had the same thing happen to me on my Ford 860.It might be the same thing on yours,it only takes 20 min. to fix it. There is a bolt under the seat it is right behind of where the tractor is bolted together it is a little valve, screw it out and clean it and put it back in.

This is a real "shot in the dark" for me, never had this problem. I always bleed at lowest idle speed. Would be curious about temperature. If it's really cold it may not bleed properly.

bleed @ cranking speed with starter motor, engine not running. You either still have air in it, the wrong hydraulic fluid, or a pump that's still not in shape.
