The problem with these 4500 tlb's is the rear input shaft sealing rings breaks and the rear clutch pack get no pressure to operate ! Another thing , these transmissions MUST BE SHIFTED FROM A COMPLETE stop or this will happen to them all . You must separate the tractor to repair it!

Have Fun and enjoy !

Mike :)

Glad you got it fixed Mike, but I'll agree with Bern on the "completely stopped" idea, thats the whole thing with a power shuttle so you dont have to be stopped to shift, I do recommend slowing somewhat to reduce stress on the operator when shifting, only the old manual reversers require you to be completely stopped when shifting, if not..."there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth".

You don't have to come to a complete stop when shifting, you only need to reduce the RPM. They are built to be a "power shuttle". I'm sure this type of shifting did not cause your seal rings to break.

Now then, if you had stripped off the bolts that hold the ring gear to the differential housing, I might buy your theory.
