I own a 1969 Ford 3500 with Loader and Backhoe from the factory. I am the third owner, purchasing it 3 years ago. Mechanically it is fine. I recently had a problem with discharging. I looked at the belt and it was loose. Tightened it up and it worked fine...for 10 minutes. Checked again and the belt was loose. I went to my local Ford store and picked up a belt, but can not figure out how to get it on. Any suggestions for easy access and replacement?

THERE IS FOUR BOLTS THAT HOLD THE HYD. DRIVE SHAFT REAR YOKE TO THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY. REMOVE THESE BOLTS AND THEN YOU CAN COMPRESS THE DRIVE SHAFT A LITTLE BIT AND SLIDE IT TO ONE SIDE. YOU WILL HAVE ONLY 1/2INCH OF ROOM TO WORK YOUR NEW BELT IN BETWEEN PULLEY AND THE YOKE. CLEAN OFF CRANK AND YOKE AREA REAL GOOD BEFORE START JOB. ALSO WEAR SAFTEY GLASSES, CAUSE YOU HAVE TO WORK FROM THE BOTTOM OF TRACTOR. GOOD LUCK, J.R. FROM NE.KS.
