I have a question about plows on a 1964 Ford 4000. I tried a set of 2-12,s on my Ford tractor and could not get them to work without them going to the left when standing at the rear of the tractor. I had the right rear wheel in all the way which gave me about 26" from center of draw bar to edge of the right inside of wheel. This should be sufficient for plow width. i also adjusted plows to make sure they were running straight with the furrow. I could not get them to work unless i put a chain on the plows and hooked them to where i hook my stabilizer bar up to. Then they worked flawlessly and very well and didn't cause tractor to fight left with the front end. I have tried to look at other photos in books to see if they ran a stabilizer bar when plowing and have not seen any. I even asked a ford dealer and no help more than i alredy know. If anyone can give me insight on this please let me know. THANKYOU!!!!

GS you did not say what kind of plow you had most 4000 tractors pull 3#14s where i am located. You might try a 101 ford plow 2 or 3 bottom because yours could be spung or set up wrong just because it is 3pt hitch some brands will not work properly stick with a ford 101 series for better results. hope this helps any questions email thanks Terry Clubb

How are your landsides and the trail wheel? Those pieces are what push against the furrow. They must be in good condition to keep the plow running straight.

The cross shaft where your 3 point arms fasten to needs rotated, you need a manual for the plow to see what wheel settings are required.

I used a manual off of my brothers plows to give a guide line on this but no luck. The cross shaft when rotated does left or right. That was set before i started to get the plows straight. I then slid it on the cross shaft to achieve proper width of cut when in the furrow but still no luck?????
