So! What's a SELECTAMATIC TRANNY? I have some parts or will sell a 3000 Select-0-Speed rebuilt. What's wrong with yours? email if interested. I'd not convert if S.O.S can be fixed or swapped for S.O.S.

Check the archives on this site for more information, pros and cons, and costs than you will probably want to read through. Search under "SOS" or "Selecto-O-Speed". Look for posts by LarryNCKS, Bern, and few other regulars you will see on alot of the SOS posts for really good background information.

If it is not too broke the best thing to do is fix it. A changeover is going to run about a grand for parts and then the real work starts.

BTW, I own a 63 2000 with an SOS and wouldn't swap it for a manual anything.

Change will probably run a lot more than that.Started one last fall for a customer, she later backed out and sold the tractor for salvage (I still have most of it). Found that the rear axle needed to be changed, too. PTO works different (or at least on the unit I have). Also have to change the flywheel. Used was going to run $1500 for 8 speed and another $1000.00 on rear end. Or for another $500 could get a like new one off a 3600. Email me if you are interested in one.
