Will someone on this site who is familiar with the 1600 ford please contact me for chat a/o e-mail regarding same. I'm lost as to why several posts over the past 2 months have produced no responses. Is this the ONLY 1600 ever produced?
I have several questions, am looking for parts and would just like to know there's at least one other person that's got one of these beasts. Thank you. Larry

WEll, thanks fellas..... ..I was certainly feeling pretty lonesome but you three (gatractorman, paul and ron ) have brightened my spirits a little. Good to know my e-mail is working properly and now, so is my tractor. I'll follow the advice but would still like to know if there is a discussion board or chat that would lead me to more info about this 1600. Paul was pretty inofrmative regarding the rare nature of my machine. Is there somewhere on the 'Net I can go to get in with a 1600 crowd?
And, anyone else out there with 1600 experience, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Thanks again, guys and
best regards
Larry

no, Larry you are not the only one with one but they did not go over well because of their size. My brother in law had one but it was always just a tad too small for what he was trying to do.

Thank goodness..... at least one more. Ron, thank you for your response. Where are you located? Is your brother-in-law on this server? How much info can you give me about this machine? Actually mine is just the proper size for our operation and I have a brush hog and a loader. So.....I just had some repairs done and it's now running real nicely and the loader works the way it's supposed to. I left all that stuff to a pro to fix but at some time I'd like to begin to tinker and make it look a little more like new. So most of my questions will have to do with rust removal, painting, etc. But I figured a good place to start would be by replacing the muffler. Can you direct me to a site that handles parts for this machine or is it pretty much shooting in the dark? The dealer is asking $158. for a muffler..... I thought that was a little steep, personally. Any observations on that price. And, at least for this reply, which position of the 4 wheel drive control puts the thing INTO 4 wheel. I really just can't tell. Got to be one or the other; either forward is in 4 wheel or not. Again, thanks for a reply and any direction you give me re: parts and general questions on operation will be appreciated. Regards, Larry

This forum is kinda dedicated to older machines. yours is kinda rare, an early compact tractor, so there weren't many made, but it's not old enough for this crowd. And back when they were made comacts weren't so popular, so just didn't sell many.

I'm kinda looking for a 1720 with loader myself.

Due to the rarety, finding parts other than from the dealer will be tough. It's too new to have many dead one's at the junk yards, but too old & rare to have many 3rd party suppliers.

In my opinion. Sounds like a nice little unit you have tho. :)
