I busted the radiator on my 2000. I was looking at it to see how hard it was going to be to get out and it looks like it might be more than I expected. I am use to working on cars, so I figure unbolt the shroud and slide back so you can get the fan bolts off then remove the fan & shroud and the rest should come to light as you get a better look at it. First step, the shroud is attached with slot head screws that you can't get to for the front sheet metal. So, I thought I'd stop and ask someone familiar with this tractor as to what should be removed, how and in what order.

Thanks,
David

David, my experience, which is limited to my own tractor, taught me it is easier in the end to remove the nose cone and the hood. I think that would be true even if it is possible to get it out otherwise. You might as well be philosophical about it and just get it done. It's one of those aggravating things like replacing the return filter on the 3 point. Good luck.

You should buy 3 manuals for your tractor. Operators Manual, Repair Manual, and Parts Manual. You need them.

David,

What you apparently didn't realize is that Tom gave you the best advice anyone could, if you are planning on doing anything to the tractor yourself, you are going to NEED those manuals. Tractors only look easier to work on than cars, the shop manual probably uses half a page to tell you how to get your radiator out. Good luck with your work.

Mike

Sorry, I shouldn't have done that.
