I posted a few weeks ago about the Ford 821D that I got for christmas. I want to thank everyone for all the info offered here. I've changed all the fluids and even plowed some snow. Did have a little mess-up, took the wrong hose off the steering pump to drain and sprayed power steering fluid all over myself.
I have a couple of questions - I finally got the yellow paint off the loader tag and find its marked 19-097. Can anyone tell me what kind of loader and where I might get a manual?
The rear tires are 14.9-24's but it seems that 28" wheels were std. Is this an option or a later change? Also, the front tires are 6.50-16 truck tires. The one on the right seems to rub on something. I see that 5.50 or 6.00 tire were std. Should I replace with a narrower tire?
Thanks again. (I posted a photo a while back, if you're interested)

Hi Allan, Where are you located in Mass. ? I live in Monson. Since your tractor is an 821D that is an Industrial / Utility version tractor which 90% of them came with 24 Inch tires and wheels for flotation and higher ply rating reasons espesially if it was carrying a backhoe all the time( don't forget that would be an extra 3000lb. load on the rear tires ). 19-97 is a Ford model 703 loader. Thanks Tony Jacobs

I live in Bedford, right between Lexington and Concord. Don't really need a tractor, but always wanted one. The 821 was at the barn where my daughter keeps her horse, they replaced it with a new kubota and my wife bought it for me for Christmas for $1100!

Actually, mine has an I also but everywhere I look, the loaders are refered to as 19-XXX. Whats your serial number? Maybe they broke the 1 the day these were made.

I have a 19-97 loader on my 1957 Ford 840. A reprint of the A/O (assembly and operating manual) is available from n-news (link below).

There's a picture of my tractor in the archives too, search for Ford 840.

There is a space for the model # but it is blank! It is a Ford loader, I can see an "RD" under the paint on the left arm of the loader (the first two letters are missing.

Allan, I have two 28 inch wheels/centers/tires that I took off my 901 which shouldn't have been on it. I have replaced these with the proper 24 inch. But I would be interested in a trade since the 24" wheels on a 850 I own are rusted out. The tires on the 28 inch wheels are not very good but do hold air.

That number looks like it would be a Ford number, but not sure. Ask your NH dealer if he can identify it.
