working on this tractor this week, it starts and runns but owner says it has a` bad knock. I did'nt hear it but the tractor was missing some. barly had enough power to move itself. The spark plugs are fouled some and will get a new set. champion H-12 in it now. Also there are adapters on the plugs. Does any one know why. they appear to be 14 milimeter both ways. just moves the spark away that much further. Have two numbers on left bell housing #A1405 and 68393. Checked compression and have 60-70 lbs at cranking speed on all cylinders. I want to hear this tractor run a little bit more before I pull the pan and check bearings.

I think some people used to put those plug adapters on when the plugs would get oil fouled too often. Just a band aid for a larger problem.
