I have a 1964 Ford 4030 tractor. I am having a problem with raising the hitch, the fluid level is fine and the float lever is in the correct position but I am not getting any response. I would like some tips on what to try next or how I can fix this problem, any help would be appreciated.

There is also a "unloader " valve in the valve body that must be free to float. This is a valve right next to the valve that you move manually with your lift lever. Quite often, it sticks, particularly if the tractor sets for long periods. Also, if it sets for long periods and someone moves the draft/positioncontrol lever to draft position and then back, the lift wight not move. You can lubricate this generously and work it back and forth when you lift your cover. BE CAREFUL. Use a lift of some sort to help you with liftingthe cover. Youwill get a hernia or bend or break something on the lift, both of which are expensive and painful.

There is a sensor pin that rides on a cam built onto the rockshaft lever. Quite common for this pin to be worn out so linkage "thinks" lift is already in up position. It will be easy to see once you get the lift cover off.
