Hey guys, I'm a little confused. I saw a Jubilee today that the man advertised as such. When I got there the emblem on the front said Golden Jubilee is there a difference in the two and what is the NAA. He thought the Golden was only made in '53 and the Jubilee in '54. He was a country farmer who just used it as a work tool and didn't know too much about the history of Ford. However he did know what kinda money to ask for it. Do you think $3500.00 for this tractor is too much -- real clean and runs like a sewing machine. It does have the vane hydro pump but it all seems to work just fine. This tractor has new tires all around -- a new radiator--and front grill. (he said he ran a tree branch into the grill and radiator last year and had to replace them) I was really impressed with the tractor and a plow also goes with it. Always kept in a shed he said and regularly serviced. Oil looked clean. So tell me about the Jubilee and what to look out for.

Bob

These Good 50-year-old Ford tractors are hard to find! If it has good sheet metal with no dents and that includes good fenders, it is an OK buy. If it is a really good tractor it is a bargain. You won't know the answer until your use it, but I bet you will like it, and you might love it. Plow? why is he selling. A good one is worth $200ish. A bad one isn't worth hauling home. MIKE

Good info in the other posts. With a plow, I think the price is reasonable, based on the description you gave. You aren't stealing it at that price, but you aren't overpaying either. If the plow is one of the double bottom Dearborns with good name plate and good shares, then so much the better. Does the tractor have a drawbar? Front bumper? Those help the price some.

Carll..... .Bought a Golden Jubilee several yrs. ago at auction. Paid $2300 for it (tractor only) and the vane type pump seem to work just fine. After I got it home and mounted a box grader to it to smooth drive, the pump would not lift the grader after it got warmed up. Replace the pump with piston pump (around $500) and have been very pleased with it since. Check the rear hubs for tightness, they are splined and some times get worn. I didn’t and mine are worn and I have not had the time to fix them. Did change to 12v and changed fluids, but that is all. I just use to mow and maintain drive, so hub are not high on repair list but will have to be fixed. I may be wrong about importance of this repair and welcome comments ..... ..... .E. Ray

Ford made one model of tractor in '53 and '54 and it was the NAA. However, in '53 it was given a special name "Golden Jubilee" in honor of Ford Motor Co's 50th anniversary. "Jubilee" and "Golden Jubilee" are synonymous. Some people choose to not say both words.

Commonly when you hear of a "Jubilee" or "Golden Jubilee" they are speaking of a '53. When you hear "NAA" they are usually speaking of a '54 (same tractor, just a different front emblem), but technically they are both NAA's. In other words: All Jubilee's are NAA's, but not all NAA's are Jubilee's. Does that confuse you completely?
