Never have posted here before, but I hope you folks can help me out. I found a 1981 model Ford 3000, one owner, in great shape. Looks like it has been kept inside, because the paint is almost like new. Has four new tires, and is in A-1 shape. The guy is asking $10,000.00 for it. What do you think? Please email me any remarks if you would, and thanks in advance.
Marty

3600's here in good shape bring 6000-7000 at auction. Lowball in the 5's. I just bought a 7610, black stripe, series II, 91, with 3010 hrs for $7500. Wouldn't pay 10,000 for anything less than a cherry 5610 regular or a 7610/7710 with CHA.

Marty; Regardless what it is, way over "priced" he doesn't want to sell it, as he is in love with it! I think around the 6 to 7k would be more realistic. My neighbor just sold a 4600 with 3 bottom plow, (cherry) for $8500, just my opinion.

Sorry folks, it is a 3600, not a 3000. My mistake.

Hi Marty,

There are certainly individuals who frequently visit this board that are much more knowledge than myself on this topic.

However, with that said, Ford stopped building the 3000 around 1975 and replaced it with the 3600. The 3600 was produced until around 1981 and was replaced with the 3610. The 3610 was produced a few years and was replaced by the 2910 and 3910, which are all excellent utility tractors.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as a 1981 model Ford 3000 although the Ford 3000 produced from the mid 1960’s to the mid 1970’s are fine tractors.

As far as price is concerned, if the machine is in “like new” condition it is well worth $10,000; however, that is not too far from the price of a brand new 35-40 hp tractor of various brands. HTH. Rick H. Ga.
