How can I tell exactly what year mine is?
Below it is mentioned for the 9N,2N, and 8N's
but not something like the 3400's.

Hi Al,

The information you are seeking can be found in the archives of this board. This subject has been discussed extensively. There should be a data plate underneath the hood panel on the right side above the battery with a model number and a type number that are relevant. The most important number is the serial number stamped on the top of the cast iron housing on the right side behind the starter motor. These numbers, when properly interpreted, reveal the location, year, month, day and shift the tractor was built.

Ian, Rick B, Texadian, Tim K and others can offer more detailed information HTH. Rick H. Ga.

The plate is hard to read due to the acid fumes.
The Model looked to be 04012K
the other # is the unit# 40112
These are all that are readable from the plate in the hood. I will look for the other one by the starter. I saw some of those archive boards in the past. I will look through again to see if I can decipher it.
If you have anyphotos of this model, I would like to see. Thanks, Al
