If I'm adding a rear light on a 6 volt system on my Ford 960, what is recommended.

I see the light I have is 30W at 6V, so I assume that I should plan on using 5 amps of current. Should I put an in line fuse for 7.5 amps, and what gauge wire?

I have a switch that says 12V for 20 amps, so that should ok.

thanks in advance

Your switch is OK. You can try the 7.5 amp fuse. If you blow the fuse sometimes you can go to a 10 amp fuse but no larger. 14 gauge wire will be fine and if the wire shorts to ground it can handle the current to blow the fuse.
