While pulling a box scraper (3rd gear) everything all at once shut down. (Drive train wise) The 3pt still works fine the engine runs fine, just won’t do anything (no noise or anything) in any gear. I was told that the filter might be “clogged” so I changed the filter. No good. Is there a test I can do to determine if the pump is pumping to “pressure” I really don’t want to split the case change the pump and find that’s not it. Any help would be appreciated Thanks all
This forum has been a wonderful help

Kurt, my 2000 Ford did the same thing, started to back out of the shop, it barely moved then wouldn't do anything. The spline and the facing of the torgue limiting clutch had separated at the rivets. My bet is you have a torgue limiting clutch failure. The transmission is probably fine. Check and see if the pto will still work. Probably not. Remove the level plug on the right side of the transmission and with the engine at idle, have someone help you put the tractor through a few gears while you look and listen at the level plug opening for signs of any fluid or internal parts movement. Best I can remember the parts I needed for my repair came to less then $300.00. Good Luck

It could be that your torque clutch on the flywheel gave up. Is the PTO inoperable? Does the tractor act like it's in park? If so, then suspect the torque clutch, broken input shaft, or weak pump. If the PTO operates, will it pull any kind of load? If not still suspect above. There are other possibles, but these are most likely.

A P.S. You can put 300 psi pressure gauges on the servo test ports to check for proper pressure. The transmission will have to be in the proper gear to read pressures. MAKE SURE THE TRACTION COUPLING IS DISCONNECTED before doing any of this. The tractor will need to be at operating temperature with the engine running at 800 rpm. Check servo 3 in 5th gear. Servos 1 and 2 may be checked in neutral. Pressures should be 180 psi +/- 10. I expect yours will be at 0.

Is it possible that the transmission disconnect could have moved to the dis-engaged position?

Unlikely since there is no transmission noise whatsoever.
