I recently picked up a Ford 840. Everything works just fine except that the hydralic control doesn't have way to "set" the position. I'm constantly having to readjust the position as it tends to work it's way to the bottom. From the looks of things I believe there was a device to hold the position but it's no longer there. Does someone know what this is and where I can get one?

Thanks,

There is a friction disk between the lever and the lift quadrant shaft. It sounds like it is rather loose and the vibration of the tractor is causing the lever to drift downward while operating.

You can either replace the friction disk or install some kind of lever stop (wing nut and screw) to set the lift height. HTH. Rick H. Ga.

You can tighten the friction disk by turning the nut in the center of the friction disk. That should take care of the problem.
