I just bought a non-running 801 powermaster gas with a 12 volt generator and apparently a positive ground system. The guy I bought it from had no idea what voltage the system was. Does anyone know of a 12 volt wiring diagram using an alternator and voltmeter? Is it the same as one for an N series tractor? If it is, I can handle that. Thanks.

Genesee Products sells a very simple to follow and dependable 12V conversion kit for your 801. By the time you end up chasing down parts, buying wire, resistors, voltmeter, coil etc. you could have had a decent 12V kit all together and ready to go. Even includes auxillary connects for lights etc. Inlcudes all wires, connections, voltmeter, diagram, hgh output coil, diode, and alternator. I don't own stock in the company but after two or three of their kits I've had excellent results and good service. tom
