I have never owned a tractor before, and I am looking at a ford 3000 as my first. I would like your advice! What do I need to watch out for or to be sure of? How do I tell what year model it is? Can I still get parts for this model?

Your help is appreciated.

Parts are readily available. You can see the serial number on top of the boss that sticks out of the bell housing right in back and up from the starter. A serial number with a prefix "C" means built in America, and you can readily get the build year from it. "B" or "BH" or ..... means it was built in Basildon, England, and it's sometimes tough to get the build year from it. I would try to get a diesel, but that's my $.02
