New (well Kind of new) 4000- Need Manuals

My wife and I got our newest family member delivered Saturday, Ford 4000, named Big Blue. It was used on a farm in PA for over 25 years. We ran it around the yard a few times, sounds good, been under cover all of its life, body is in good shape.

We have no manuals for it and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions with respect to manuals we should purchase. There are quite a few available on the net (owners, parts, service manuals)and I do not know which is the best option. Instead of coming to this board with simple questions like "Does turning the gas tank shut off valve clockwise or counterclockwise open the valve" we can consult a manual. Thanks in advance.

By the way, we really do not know the answer to the gas valve question.

Congratulations on acquiring �Big Blue�. The gas valve works like a regular water faucet, fully clockwise closed; fully counterclockwise open.

Don�t know the exact FO number for the manual you need but you can get it through some of the venders listed on this forum or at any New Holland dealership. The manual will probably cover the Ford 2000, 3000 & 4000 models. Great utility tractors IMO. Rick
