Well I finally did it! I found my second tractor. I found a Ford 4400 with loader. Should fit it real nice with the Ford 6600 Row Crop. Well now I have a few questions.

1. The numbers found on the transmission plate below the fuel shut off valve is OA23B and *C260780. Can anyone decode these for me and tell me what year I have.

2. What is the HP of these tractors? The man I bought it from was not to sure. It is a Diesel.

3. What size engine dose this have?

4. Any weak areas to watch out for?

5. Any Idea what one is good running shape but not to pretty is worth? It does have the factory loader.

And most of all, Thanks!

it was built jan 23 '70 on the day shift
0=70, a=jan, 23=23 and b=day shift

the c number is the serial number..
and look for one more number a model number like
45013c or similar to tell you what trans,pto, engine, and base model.. but you have about 45 to 51 pto hp.. closer to 51 for a 70 model.. you probably have an industrial or ultility model with a fac 730 front end loader.. an 8 speed trans.. 3 pt lift and a pto if luckey.. base on condition could bring $3000 to $8000.. thats from fair to very good.. condition.. the loader if in good shape by itself is worth $3000 or more if with front pump and bucket.. so thats a plus.. you model should have the heavy front end that is not adjustable for farming and row crops but on the otherhand ,, it will not fail with heavy loads of the front end loader.. which is probably more important.. good luck.. bill

Bill thanks for all the info. I will check tonight for the Model number. I does in fact have the 3 point and pto. One thing about it. It does not have the right tires and rims in the ftont. It looks like a mismatched set of car tires. I would like to put back on the original tires and rims. Does anyone know what type and size tires were made to go on this? How about a place that might sell the rims? Thanks everyone!
