know this is pre 75 models. But if any one can give me some advice i would appreciate it. Question i have a 79 ford TW 10 and know where i can get a turbo from a TW 20 motor. These are the same engines, but have diff. compression ratios. If i put the turbo on the 10 will this work or not.what else would i have to do?

Hey Ford Tw10 owner!.

We bought a brand new TW10 2wd in 1980. Here in Denmark it was a big tractor at that time, and it did fine with the euqitment we got (15 ton slurrytanker, five furrow plow) Then tractorpulling got to Denmark in the late 80`s and we used the Tw, but had problems against JD 44/4640 and IH 1455`s, so mainly for fun I have to true, we put on a turbo, and it really changed the tractor. Without touching the fuelpump it went from 127 Hp (engine) to 190. We traded it in 94 at 8500 hours to anew Ford 8340. Looking back I rememer it as the best blue we ever did have. No engine problems, not any problems at all.

Good luck with your choise - JH Denmark

It will probably work, but. The higher comp ratio on your 10 will mean greater cylinder pressures than in the 20 the turbo came off. Your 10 doesn't have oil cooled pistons, the 20 does. Fuel delivery rates are definitely different, and fuel timing may be. All depends on whether you keep the exhaust and coolant temps in line, and what you use the extra grunt for.
