I have a ford 4000 backhoe/loader that I need to get rid of, but want to put the loader on my 861. Can I do this easily? Also is there a market for the backhoe attachment alone? Thanks for any help.

Marty I am looking for a good backhoe. I have checked on one by where I live. The man said to make him an offer. It is a Ford 4000 backhoe. I don't know how much to offer. Have you sold yours yet? If so how much did you ask for it? If not let me know that too. Thanks Teresa

Hi Marty,

I think the loader should transfer OK; possibly need new front bracket (if your 4000 is a 3 cyl). Backhoe would sell better if it is on the tractor and operating. I might even be interest if you are near upstate NY.

What model loader is it. Somewhere I have the mounting manuals for a 703 loader onto the late 50's early 60's Ford Tractors covers 600,800,2000,4000 series tractors. I could email the highlights of it to you.Its probably pretty similar for all the 7xx series loaders. Its not a difficult process.

It appears that the demand is low for Ford backhoes (713/723). Advertise it for $1500 there will be little interest $500 and it'll sell in less than a week. The attaching kits match the tractor types I don't know how interchangeable they are - HD Industrials have one type and the utility Industrials another type.

There a pain to get on a trailer when not attached to a tractor.
