This is a follow up on line replacement. My original message is below.I removed the backhoe from the machine cause I decided to do all of the lines. It was pretty easy. to remove the hoe. The pain was I didn't have a way to cap off the one big hyd line on the tractor. I couldn't start the tractor until I went out and bought a cap. Probably the hardest part was getting all the lines in place coming up from the hoe and twisting into the vertical clamp. Everything else was easy. Started her up and had one big leak. In the hoe I forgot to tighten one fitting in that access hole. No biggy. I also discovered the main U-bolts that clamp the rear axle to the hydraulic/utility frame were loose. Unfortunately I cannot tighten them cause the threads are all bugged up from years of chafing. Looks like I'll have to cut them out. Hoe is up and running. I'm really surprised at how quickly all the air purges out of the system. I took some pictures if anyone is interested. ----- ----- previous message from last year----- ----- Hi everybody. Yesterday I'm mulching leaves and dumping them in the loader. When I was done I parked it and "lowered the boom". Tried pivoting the bucket and a line blew. Today we got 8" of snow. The line is one of four that connect at the valve and go out into the boom about a foot or so. There is an acess hole on the top face of the boom but very little room to get at the closely fitted hoses. Anyway, I bought all four short lines. $32 a piece. Now I'm looking at how close all the fittings are to each other at the valve and in the boom at the access hole. What is a good way of disconnecting the fittings? At the boom, can they be shifted for and aft after loosening the big clamp? At the valve, do you have to simply remove them all in sequence to get to the ones you want? I would hate to have to remove the hoe cause I have a full cab that would have to come off too. Thanks! ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----
