First time cleaning out the air cleaner on this tractor. Found a couple hand fulls of acorns in bottom of oil cup. Anyone got a reason besides farmer being nuts? Was it to help trap the dirt, bottom was full of sluge. Trying to clean out now.

I had a Ford 2000 (early) that when purchased had the rectangular piece missing, that goes across from the top of the breather to the side panel air intake. Would have been easy access for any mouse or chipmunk to store his wares in the bottom of the breather. Dan Robertson

Apparently a squirrel or mouse decided that the tube for the air cleaner would be a good hiding place. I had acorns in the air cleaner on my Jubilee when I got it too.

The oil sump at the bottom should be cleaned with every oil change of the engine, using the same weight oil as in the crankcase. My guess is that the owner just didn't do it. As to the acorns, beats me.
