I wanted to thank all od you that offered advise to help me get a 730 loader mounted on my 4000SU. I used a factory front mounting plate, new drive shaft hardware for the front pump, and extended the rear axle mounting plates as I was warned I would have to do.

Everything went together very well until final assembly after I put the hood and nose sheetmetal in place. The main front crossmember hits the sheetmetal of the nose, and I don't mean a little but approximately 1 - 1.5 inches. There's just not enough room. The loader works great, just like a new one.

It seems like my only option is to cut the sheetmetal. I hate the thought of doing this as this is a "nice" work tractor. What do you guys think? Should I just cut a notch in the leading edge? Should I take a 2 inch, vertical section out, so as to keep the front edge of the nose in tact, just 2 inches rearward?

I sure can't just use it without the sheetmetal, with the radiator hanging out in the open. I sure would appreciate some advice. Thanks

if you extended the rear mounts, it should of just cleared the front nose by a half inch.. and assuming you had the off set on the front mounting plate.. dont cut the sheet metal.. push the loader forwards and use the longer drive shaft..

my 2 cents worth.. good luck..
