I have a 4000 ford with the 201 gas engine. After about 20-30 minutes the exhaust and manifold get so hot they start to glow. Is this normal? If not what could be causing it. Thanks. Alan

That's not normal for them to glow. You may have an intake air leak causing too lean of a mixture. You can check that with a can of carb. cleaner. With the tractor running spray the carb cleaner around the intake portion of the manifold and the carb base gasket. If it's leaking you'll hear a change in engine speed when you spray the leak.
Good Luck, Lee
