Help! I am trying to locate a decent wiring diagram for my '57 841 Powermaster. I have searched the archives and haven't really found anything that works. I have a 12 volt negative ground system with a GM alternator that supposedly has a built-in voltage regulator. The old wiring harness was a mess and I am trying to install a new one. Another problem is that I have no idea if the old wiring was correct, as the tractor most likely hasn't run in years. I've looked at the diagrams on the Vintage Tractor website, but they can't help either. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

If you're up for some reading, go to 'Articles' in the sidebar, where you'll find 3 or 4 good pieces about 12 volt conversions.

I found a good wiring diagram for my 841 D at the VIntage Ford TRactor Resource website. All I need to redo the wiring. (AT least it looks like it will be all I need). Like most old tractors it seems the previous owners rewired it and added an extra relay and solinoid?????

The extra relay carries current to the diesel manifold heaters. It's supposed to be just like the starter relay. Look around the key switch on the left side for the heater switch that powers the heater relay. The old tractor electrical is blessedly simple, but most of us need connect-the-dots instructions. Rich has an amateur 12 volt conversion with a bewildering rats nest of abandoned wires.
