My 640 was doing fine while was shredding grass today and it started to miss, I cleaned the fuel bowl and drained the carb, because I thought it might have water in it..still missing ,,Now it starting to back fire and shoot fire out the tail pipe,, I have not check the cap for moisture,, All of my tractors are kept in a shed. I just gave it a tune up about two months age.. what can it be BEN

Ben, I'd check for moisture in the cap, The little spring clip in the bottom of the rotor may have broke,letting it move freely. A coil going bad or maybe a worn gear on the distributor. Good Luck John
