my 5000 ford has the number D5NN6015H stamped for the engine serial number. the 1st letter is supposed to tell the date of manufacture but the letter D does not correspond with any letters in my shop manual. does anyone know what year this tractor might be?

Look for a tractor serial number stamped on the transmission houusing close to the starter. There is a flat spot that should have a serial number and the unit code. The unit code when translated tells you the exact day the tractor was built. It will be a number similar to this 5F17B.Let me know what this number is and I can tell you when it was built. Dana
