Sorry for this post, I have read through all of the archives and this subject has been talked about a lot. I can't seem to match my numbers up on my 3000 diesal with those that Oak has listed on his site (oaktree - great site!).

I just bought my first tractor. It is a 4 speed, pto (not live), 3 cyl. diesel, diff. lock, ps. The numbers behind the starter on the flat surface are as follows:

31012
0100602
A255

The numbers on the lower part of the engine are:

D5NN6015F
*SC370080*

These do not seem to make sense. Any Ideas? If I can't get the exact numbers, what manual should I order? They seem to have two versions, one for earlier models and one for the later models. I also need to order some parts for the PTO pump. It is leaking engine oil (not hydro). I was told the engine oil is used for lubrication. I have the 730 loader that I want to install but I want to get the oil leak fixed first.

Thanks for you help,

Mark

Mark, I purchased an FO-31 I&T Shop Manual from the local New Holland dealer. This manual covers modles prior to 1975 for 2000, 3000 and 4000 3 cyl. gas and diesel. The cost was about 26.00. Hope this helps. Greg H.

Thanks Greg, I will do the same since I do not really know the serial numbers for the tractor. They have all been worn down over the years.
