I have a hydraulic fluid leak coming from the plate under the transmission with the cotter pin. I removed the plate and wipe things down. I start the tractor and cannot see a leak. I can see the tubes going into the transmission. When I move the tractor it leaves a trail of fluid. How do I fix this leak. The transmission has 80W90 gear lube in it. The Ford 134 fluid is in the hydrauliuc system. Thanks AJ

Hi AJ, The plate under the transmission with the cotter pin in the hole is a drain for the clutch/flywheel housing area. A leak in the engine rear main seal or transmission input would show up at that drain. Since you are using 90wt in your transmission we know that's not the source of the 134. There is a hydraulic pressure and return line located in the bottom of the flywheel housing/transmission that moves oil to and from the hydraulic pump. The leak is possibly at one of the two o-rings that seal the connection between the external and internal piping(located where the transmission meets the engine near the bottom on the right side of the tractor); or; one of the pipes is leaking inside the flywheel housing. Check the o-rings just to be sure, but I think you're going to be splitting the tractor to fix one of the lines. If you take the 4-bolt plate off you may be able to get a look at the leak using a flashlight and a small mirror. Good luck...Al English
