I just bought a Ford 3000. I purchased 2 new rear tires. While changing the tire, the tube twisted, I can't get air in or out. Any suggestions.

so amy, do ya mean that ya cant see the valve stem in the hole anymore, like it fell back into the tire? if thats the case and it already has air then im afraid an ice pick or nail is your only choice if ya have it inflated already, if not then simply breaking down the tire again and retriving it will be all thats needed. ya gota post a bit more info its hard to understand exactly what we are dealing with here. good luck i know rear tires are a pain to change but a nice chunk of change to save by doing it yourself.

Amy, I agree with Bill, an ice pick will deflate the tire and tube. But before you make like a really bad Alfred Hitchcock movie,,,,

Could you possibly elaborate in a little more detail exactly how you got into this position. How do you know the tube is twisted? You can neither get air in or out, have you partially inflated the tube? Is the tube pinched between the tire and rim? What is keeping you from putting the tire and rim in the bed of your truck and taking it to a tire store that does agricultural and industrial tire repair and service.

After you take an ice pick to the new tire and tube, you will have to have them patched, why not let the tire store deal with it.

If I could see what you are dealing with, I could possibly make some more helpful suggestions.

As always, any questions, comments or pics, please post back.

Yea, I'd think removing the valve stem & walking away for a day or 3 would let any air out. And a 100 lbs of air in the tank can blast through just about anything. So not sure I understand the problem either?

Sounds more like a bad valve stem than a twist?
