Brian,
D5011K is the complex model number that identifies chassis size, generation and some components. As Bern said, any New Holland dealer should be able to interpret the model number. Here's what it means:
D - 4000 series (201 engine, wet brakes) 5 - Heaviest industrial version - the model number on the decals would be 4500. 0 - first generation
1 - Diesel
1 - No PTO K - 6 X 4 Manual Trans. The 4500 was a very popular Loader Backhoe tractor with good reliability and durablity. It actually outsold other brands of loader-backhoes until Case and later Cat took the lead.

Your serial number puts the unit as being built in early 1970. The engine date code (9K21B) would confirm that.

Any New Holland dealer should be able to translate the model number for you. If they can't, they aren't trying very hard.

I have owned a FORD 545 Skip Loader for the past 10 years, the one thing about FORD Tractors that CAT and CASE really can't claim,,,is that FORD is made simple...(-;

When I bought my FORD 545 I knew nothing about Tractors, and I got screwed, I paid $17,000.00 for my tractor from Staben Equipment Co. in Oxnard Calif.in 1994...

Being I Firewood Guy, I know equipment, but I did not know tractors, I very soon descovered that I had been had...)-;

So rather then going back to Staben Equipment, I called the local John Deer Dealership and theywere quite helpful and got me into contact with Burchtold Equipment in Bakersfield Calif.

I then ordered a full set of parts and service manuals for my tractor,the very first thing we had to do was a compleat engine rebuild,then the power stearing slave cilinders were braking on me right and left...

When I bought my FORD Tractor, I knew nothing of Tractors,,,But now, I are a FORD Tractor Micknic...(-;

I am now in the process of buying a FORD Backhoe Model # D5011K, a very clean machine 110hrs on a new inframe,new trans,new brakes and the rear end has just been gone through...(-;

But even so, Burchtold is sending me a compleat set of Parts and service manuals for the Tractor and the detachable Backhoe...(-;

The FORD Tractoe experiance, also helped me to better understand Tractor Basic's, and prepared me for the CAT D2-RU Old CAT's were made simple too...(-;

So Smile, that The Lord pointed you over to a good old FORD that you can aford to fix by yourself at home...(-;
