I am having problems with the lift on my ford 4000. I put a bush hog on it and it is ether up or down there is no in between. This is ok hauling hay but not for bush hogging. Any help would be appreciated.

Rod made the right suggestion. Always check the obvious stuff first. However, with my luck such as it is, I've found that when my tractor breaks down, if I go to the most expensive or hardest to find part or the most difficult repair....that's where the problem invariably is. Good luck!

Hi Bill

Before you rip the cover off, make sure you have the system selector in position control (lever up), and not in draft control. Draft will cause the symptoms you describe. Otherwise, some internal repair/adjustment is needed. Just my thoughts.

Bill, the cam follower pin in the lift cover may need replacing. If it does you might as well rebuild the cover while you're there.
