Aux transmissions in your area, what type are most frequently encountered.

I had this question posed to me and would like to know what and where they would be encountered.

Thanks. ATW/WA

Other than the guy a mile from me that 'sells' old tractors (what he does is get in 20 old tractors, has them on display for 5 years, then they all disappear & a different set of 20 tractors comes in - don't understand, but 4 years ago about 7 N's showed up) I really only have seen 5-10 N tractors around here ever total. The 100 series was a lot more popular - we need row-crop machines here in southern Minnesota, so the N's and the like just aren't around.

I think I only have seen one with an aux tranny at auction.

Since I have never seen one r/t I'd say they are pretty rare here.

I'd say about 20% of the Ford N's around here have a Sherman of some sort. Probably most of those are O/D with a few combos. I've seen a couple of NAA's with combos and one Ferguson TO30 with a combo (owner didn't know it was a combo until I showed him how to pull the handle out). I think I did see one 841 with a factory installed Sherman. The model number on the trans case said "841-DS". I assumed the S stood for Sherman because it had an o/d handle on the side.
