Water in Power Steering Fluid

When I went out to move some snow around, I found that my '58 821 had no steering. Not just no power steering, but I couldn't move the wheel. I opened the reservoir and found milky fluid. When I moved the wheel, the return flow dropped, so I thought that the steering valve was OK. I figured that the water in the fluid had frozen up somewhere (its been down to 9 degrees). I blew a heater at the ends of the cylinders where the small tubes enter and, after about 15 minutes, I had steering again. I should change the fluid, but we're having a blizzard right now. I thought I should share this miracle cure.
P.S. He (named Melvin by my daughter) performed like a champ and the snow is where it belongs.
