I have a 4500 hoe/loader that has auto leveling
bucket. My bucket seems to empty when its lifted
I dont think both bucket cylinders are bad so how
do I defeat the self leveling part.I just use this
a few times a year & manual operation would be fine for me.

My 4500 started doing the same thing. The culprit was in the controls themselves, I ordered a rebuild kit from New Holland and has worked great since. I don't think yours is the cylinders because it's not dumping when you just drive around, just when you pick up the arms. For a while I was in the habit of pulling both levers back when picking a load up to dump it.

Most of those loaders with the self-leveling valve had a simple push-pull control valve mounted just to the side of the main control valve. Its purpose was to do exactly as you describe. One position was for self-leveling, and the other was for "normal" non self-leveling operation. I would be surprised if your machine doesn't have this on there. If it's not, possibly someone removed it. If so, get yourself a repair manual for that loader so you can get the plumbing diagram to install one yourself.

I have found that when a bucket rolls out on its own like that, it usually IS bad packing in the cylinder(s) themselves.
