Hi Al, Congratulations. I have a 55 650 that I paid 3100 for about 2 years ago. I had an 8N and I sold it for the 650. It's a much nicer tractor. Practically- from a collector position the price is similar, they look the same and half the people that have either one don't know what they have anyway. You won't be disappointed that you have it vs an 8n. john

This year I paid $2500 for average 640, $5000 for better 650 with full service loader (front pump) and remote. I paid $4500 for real nice 860 and $2000 for below average 860. I am about to pay $3000 for average 641. I think the 6-800 series are coming into their own as collectors. I have seen others sell this year at auction at prices higher than I would pay. BURT.

Serial numbers were hand stamped and so were not always uniform. The space is just an accident. Your serial number is 133245 which makes it a 1957. The 650 has a 134 cu in engine, about 32 hp (not sure exactly), non-live pto and a 5 speed trans. I have an 850 which is basically the same tractor only with a 172 cu in engine. I believe the diff is bigger on the 800 series than on the 600 series. They're all worth restoring, but I assume you mean "is the collector value there to justify the expense of restoring it"? Probably not. The 600/800 series have never seemed to command the collector interest of the 8N or the Golden Jubilee, even though they are better tractors. I think the collector value will never drop and should start to increase. Can't say by how much, though.

What is it worth now? You're the best judge of that since you just bought it. It's worth whatever you paid, or whatever someone else will pay. Generally a good 650 in working condition but needing some tlc and appearance enhancements will go for anywhere between $2500 to $4000. I got my 850 for $2500 4 years ago and have never had to do anything too major to it. It's not show quality by any stretch, but it starts every time I ask it to.
