Where to tie in lighting circuit on an 850

I am attaching lights to my wagner loader frame and am trying to figure out where to tie in the circuit. It has been converted to 12 volt. There's not much to go on based on what I see under the dash, just wondering where the safest place to tie in is, will add a switch & an in line fuse etc. This 850 LPG looks to have had a few alterations over the years, hope to restore it and make it a nice working tractor a little at time. Need light's while pushing snow at night though.

I have the parts book & the shop manual, but no one line diagrams and shows 6 volt set up, not sure if the 12 volt configuration makes it all that much different or does it.

Thanks

If you have doubts go directly to the battery or the hot side of the starter solnoid. This way your light circuit remain seperate from existing curcuits.

That would certainly work, but I would also suggest adding an inline fuse to protect the circuit. It only took one electrical fire to make me a believer in using fuses!

Thanks everyone, appreciate the help. I made up some brackets from angle iron, took those old J.W.Hobbs lights on the shelf ( left over from our Ford dealership in the mid 70's ) mounted them, and wired them.

Also elimintated several bare and questionable connections under the dash. It's amazing what people will do with electrical wiring, found a hot wire with a bare end, from the voltmeter just hanging! Have to find out how that is supposed to be wired next. Nothing works on the dash right now, oil line to gauge, cut & sealed, temp gauge not hooked up, proof meter not working, all the little fun stuff to figure out. Only 35 watts each light, but I tested them out tonight, plenty bright, was scraping wet snow off the driveway. Much better than working in darkness!

Hal, I put a 30 amp in-line fuse after the toggle switch, I agree, no shortcuts when it comes to safety, every circuit has to be fused, I see the previous owner was not too interested in safety, this one runs on LPG !!!

Any time one is converted all bets are off as to what you may find. If you still have a voltage regulator chase the wire from the B terminal to a terminal block. If the regulaotr and or terminal block has been eliminated you could go to the starter solenoid or to the battery.

I see the voltage regulator box under there, will get a closer look and see if it is still in use.
Did not see any wires going to it, might just be taking space.
