I bought a piece of property that came with a badly neglected ford 2000 indus. which believeit or not actually runs. If I have researched this correctly the number between the "diamonds" is the serial number. The number is 4243 and this tells me its a 1962 correct?
The tractor was left outside for years and amoung other things is pretty rusty. For some reason it has a 12 volt battery on it but it still has the original 6 volt set up. Would I be better off completely changing over to a 12 v system? How involved is this? I think all the wires need to be replaced either wy. Thanks Bill

Ray, Just wandering if you had a chance to check those numbers. I don't have a problem keeping it 6 volt, but I will still have to change the harnesss, possibly the generator and who knows what else. The wires look to be butchered, the key switch is just hanging there and the starter button has been disconected.
Thanks for any help with this tractor. Bill

If I can remember I'll look tonight at my manuals. I have a 62 2000 utility industrial w/Front loader -- the tractor starts everytime and its covered only by a tarp. The 6V system has not given me any problems yet.
