Are some gas filters made to work with more presure than gravity provides?

The reason for my question is that we think that we have detected a restriction in gas flow by using gas filters. They seem to cause more trouble in winter. We change them back to sed. bowl. We are thinking these filters require presure from a fuel pump. All other ideas welcome. BURT.

You might have a problem with water contamination in your gas if you have problems only in cold weather. If that's the case, your sediment bowl will clog also because it has a filter in it and you also have the "secret filter" at the carb inlet elbow.

I use a Fram G2 gas filter on my gravity feed TO-30 and it works just fine. They just restrict the flow sooner with gravity flow then if you had them downstream of a fuel pump.

Any filter can stand 4-7 psi.,however an 8n has no fuel pump to create such pressure.
